"Applying integral strategies and solutions to disrupt, combat, and alleviate Economic Euthanasia"
Our Mission
Treasured Pets’ mission: “To apply integral strategies and complete solutions to disrupt, combat, and alleviate Economic Euthanasia.”
Economic Euthanasia is enormous and has a myriad of underlying causes. Similar to "peeling an onion" the problem has many layers that become more complex the deeper you go. To disrupt and combat Economic Euthanasia, Treasured Pets applies an all-encompassing strategy involving all potential solutions and stakeholders. Potential solutions involving stakeholders include:
Pet and Companion Animal Guardians
Critical economic issues include factors that impact the national economy, businesses, and households—conditions that compound challenges facing pet guardians. There are, however, measures that pet parents and companion animal guardians can implement to prevent unexpected and conceivably devastating economic and health consequences. Treasured Pets offers three programs that address these issues.
Veterinarians & Veterinary Specialists
It is in the interest of veterinarians, veterinary professionals, and their clients to make animal health care as affordable and accessible as possible. Several fairly simple efforts can help all pet parents requiring veterinary care, especially those facing financial difficulties. Treasured Pets offers programs that address these issues— informatively and economically.
Corporations, Businesses, & Insurers
In an economic environment where low unemployment increases opportunities for the labor force, companies normally offer incentives, e.g., increased wages, signing bonuses, or enhanced benefit packages to attract candidates. These packages often comprise innovative components, e.g., fertility benefits, childcare, and wellness programs. Though pet insurers are beginning to develop and offer Employer Pet Insurance Plans, very few employers recognize these benefits as valuable. Treasured Pets provides a program that addresses pet insurance on several levels, including the significance of businesses acknowledging how pets and companion animals make their employees healthier and happier.
Local, State, and Federal Governments & Regulatory Bodies
Governments at every level utilize tax policies to encourage or discourage social behaviors— incentives or disincentives. The first tax imposed by the federal government was a tax on distilled spirits produced in the U.S. And, like the excise taxes on cigarettes and sugar, the alcohol tax discouraged unhealthy behaviors that led to broad, societal costs. In contrast, the federal government allows corporations, institutions, and individuals to deduct charitable donations from their income taxes, thus promoting positive activities.
We contend that veterinary expenses warrant similar consideration—because of the mortality of ensuring animal wellness and the substantial reduction in healthcare costs associated with the measurable benefits to humans of caring for pets and companion animals.
According to the AVMA, as of 2024, 66% of U.S. households care for a dog or a cat. Moreover, this figure has risen significantly over the past three decades. Dogs are the most popular pets in the U.S., with 65.1 million households caring for at least one canine family member, followed by cats with 46.5 million households caring for at least one feline beloved kitty.
Treasured Pets plans to, directly and indirectly, lobby governments to consider and adopt a tax policy that benefits, at the very least, companion animal guardians but hopefully all pet parents.
Our Vision
Treasured Pets’ vision: “To become the nation’s leader in revolutionizing the status quo and radically reducing Economic Euthanasia.”
We envision a society where all canine and feline pets and companion animals are treated equally to their guardians with dignity, respect, and security — where every animal has the opportunity for urgent and curative medical care — and no animal is put to death based solely on economic reasons.
Give a little to make a profound IMPACT
When you donate to Treasured Pets, you're helping support our mission and realize our vision, and,
It’s a reason close to your heart — significantly reducing Economic Euthanasia
Your donation makes a difference, no matter the amount, and it makes you feel good
You're setting a positive example, inspiring others to give and pay attention to our cause
Your contribution benefits society’s neediest and most vulnerable
You can earn substantial tax benefits, deducting up to 50% of your gross income
Significant size gifts can help us achieve operational self-sufficiency promptly while smaller donations are still essential to our work. We also ask that donors consider a monthly recurring donation that allows for a steady distribution of funds over an entire year. Recurring gifts in smaller increments are more budget-friendly than larger gifts and are incredibly beneficial from an operational perspective. We project that we'll receive most of our revenue during the two-month Giving Season, which may strain resources throughout any given year.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
