About Financial Aid for Veterinary Care
Treasured Pets Foundation provides financial assistance grants to family-held pets and companion animals that need lifesaving urgent, emergency, or curative veterinary care and whose caregivers cannot afford the full cost of treatment. This program is designed to help with the treatment and medical care of dogs and cats where the animal would otherwise suffer, be euthanized, or be relinquished without appropriate veterinary care.
BEFORE APPLYING:
You must have a clear diagnosis, treatment plan, and an estimated cost of care from a veterinarian for emergency or specialty care only.
Unless applying for emergency care, if your pet has not been seen by a veterinarian yet, do not apply for assistance as your application will be denied.
Grants are not guaranteed, and will not exceed $3,500.00 per animal, per household. Due to the large volume of applications, the program can’t provide for all applicants. Treasured Pets can only assist individuals with financial needs as proven by receiving government assistance, or a household income below 250% of the federal poverty guidelines. If you do not receive government benefits or your income exceeds the federal poverty thresholds listed below, you will not qualify for financial assistance through our program.
RULES FOR APPLYING
Treasured Pets remits funding directly to the treating veterinarians ONLY IF your application is approved and treatment is scheduled.
No contributions are EVER given directly to individuals.
We will not reimburse paid invoices or consider any reimbursement situations. If you have already paid your veterinarian for services, please seek other arrangements for assistance.
Incomplete requests will be automatically denied, specifically if any required information is left blank or the required documentation is missing.
If your application is submitted Monday through Friday, our goal is to notify you by email within three (3) days of receipt. Applications submitted on holidays or weekends will not be processed until the following business day.
If you do not hear back regarding the status of your application within two business days, you may follow up at info@treasuredpetsfoundation.org.
Once the application is approved, you must seek treatment within two weeks. Funds do expire. This expiration date will be conveyed to your vet clinic.
Please understand that while Treasured Pets makes every effort to respond to each application, it is still your responsibility to seek treatment for your pet.
